Friday 26th December - walks **** – Martlesham Wilds for a picnic – sunny periods.

After a full-on Christmas day Mag and I had a quiet day before our Grandson Arlo arrive tomorrow. Relaxing morning although Mag did go for her early prom stroll, I passed! I then made another picnic, another yummy chicken sandwich, I wasn’t sure where to go but we ended up parking at Martlesham Church which was really full and once again had the picnic in the van before setting off on the walk, back along the lane and down to the little marina at the end of Martlesham Creek as the sun was getting low, sadly most of the yachts here have seen better days and are covered in green:( We then walk along the creek towards Kyson Point with views up to the Tide Mill in Woodbidge. This area is a new nature reserve called Martlesham Wilds where lots of work is being done including a footpath to Waldringfield which we will have to check out soon! We reach the van with the sun very nearly setting so I drive as quickly as I can to try and get a pic before it disappears, I just make it stopping near the large field of pigs and get a few nice shots, then home for another cuppa and cake – its been an absolute brilliant Christmas so far!
